The Itinerary Of Formation

First Stage: Initial formation

Normally composed of:

- a year of postulancy
In this probationary period of formation the candidate, with the help of group of sisters, deepens her baptismal vocation, evaluates her human maturity and comes to know and experience the demands and the dimensions of the life of our congregation. On our part, we ascertain the suitability of the person to the life of pastoral consecration.
Postulancy is undertaken in a formative community able to offer a sense of true inner freedom and an example of authentic Christian life.

- two years of novitiate
Novitiate is an important time of initiation to our consecrated life in view of mission. It includes the periods of apostolic activity which last for two years.
The constant meditation of Scripture, the joyous celebration of the liturgy, the prolonged silence, the study of our Rule of Life and of the theology of religious life, together with an authentic community life, are aimed at developing in the novice an awareness that God has called her to communion with him so as to send her, like the Good Shepherd, to his people.

- five to six years of temporary profession
In this period of temporary profession the sister binds herself to live out all the demands of her consecration. This stage is in preparation for her definitive commitment which she would undertake after a period of five years.

Second Stage: On-going formation
